We do not actually see space.
We just see the all stars. Albeit through pollution and atmospheric distortion.
The thing about space itself, however, is that it is black, - very black.
And silent; as we all know, sound does not travel through a vacuum.

Space has been this way for a very long time and is probably quite happy to stay that way.
Whilst stars may go nova, space itself is not likely to suddenly erupt into a violent, screaming, sheet of whiteness...
1. Phoenix

In another galaxy, a very long time ago...
Suddenly, space erupted into a violent, flaming, screaming sheet of whiteness.
The vicious wound in space subsides revealing a shimmering portal.
Faster than any eye could see, a lone ship emerges and vanishes into the void.

With another flash, the hyperspace portal disappears...

About Phoenix
Depicts an alternative theory about the origin of the BlackEye Galaxy.
The apparent damage, to this galaxy, was not done by natural forces, but by a cataclysmic war.
The natural order of things, in this galaxy, was dog eat dog.
It was not a nice place.
It was not a place that you would take your mother to.

As the intelligence levels, of these aliens, is even lower than man's, the age old question arises yet again: "Is there any intelligent life in the universe at all?"

Read Cutter
An action packed novel following the traditions of classic science fiction, (Asimov, A. Clarke),
dealing the issues of one man's struggle against the brutality of war & his own place within the universe.

" You see.....my existence has always been a brutal one.
Such events in our history have shown the psychological damage that can be inflicted by war. Soldiers and civilians are both equally affected.
The destructive and dark side to Man's inherent inability to contain evil (the desire to kill, to use and waste, to destroy) seeps over into the human soul and there, once beginning to hook in, inevitably infects- unchecked- eventually killing the good, promoting evil."
