It won't be long until Seera picks up the homing device. It was standard for all the team to have it fitted into wisdom tooth. It has been activated as soon as he awoke in the cell. 'Maybe she has deliberately left it in to trap the others, if they are still alive. Are they coming?'

Ball puts the questions out of his head. His two children and wife could be in her clutches. She implied that she had the children or was that a form of mental torture? Seera is truly the most evil person he has ever had the misfortune to meet.

The door opens, this time though, it isn't Seera but some guard. He doesn't speak but points a staser at Ball. He squeezes trigger- Ball hits rear wall, crying out for a split second.

"Okay get this area cleared," commander Reiss bellows orders as teams of police are stunned by the carnage they see.

"What the hell?" A marksman stares at a corpse, "they all look the same..what the hell? A clone or something? I thought they only existed in comic books?"

A W.P.C. is on the verge of tears, as she crouches over the body of a clone with several staser wounds that have opened his chest. The policeman finds the woman's reaction strange. She hasn't exactly been friendly. He assumes she must be new to the job. He wouldn't know who was new or experienced anyhow- his division is separate.

The W.P.C. leaves the scene, "hey! Are you okay?" He follows her quickly, calling after her.

She moves faster than him, to the east stairs. By the time he gets to the stairs he's lost sight of her, but can still hear the W.P.C's footsteps on the stairs as she scrambles down rapidly. The marksman senses there is something wrong with this one, more than just a first time rookie reaction. He runs after her quickly now, staser drawn, calling for back up and a check on her number through throat mike.

Her footsteps seem to be getting quieter and quieter.

He is running at top speed, radioing downstairs to cover exit, alerting officers on all floors. The policeman can hear others coming up stair well.

"I repeat a woman dressed as W.P.C , number: 349. Heading down east stairwell, which division is she with?"

To his disappointment he runs straight into a fellow officer coming out of floor twelve. The chase halts abruptly. The other officers ascending up stairs are but a floor down. They are with him in moments. He looks at them. They look back at him. The pseudo W.P.C is confirmed to have no division, no officer identified under 349, she has disappeared.

Ball opens his eyes slowly, expecting heaven or some other place to appear.

He is in a large holding bay. Above him, large walls of dock reach up into dizzying heights. His whole body is wrapped in large, unnecessary, chains with three inch links. More for show than security because the walls are practically smooth- unclimbable. It is a docking bay for cargo interstellar freighters. Ball recalls that he was at the opening of the first sector of docking bays in London.

The chief of police can hear voices distantly murmuring, echoing in the great ceiling above, walls rebounding sounds. Ball tilts his head slightly trying to catch what they are saying. He cannot tell but be can hear ships docking outside, some taking off. The steady blip of a beacon. He knows he is in London and that is a positive start, the old city using a certain type of beacon indigenous in the docklands area.

"Situ'?" Walker communicates with Reed.

"Second team directive achieved. Ball down in dock."

First teams: Walker, Dobrovowski are under main offices, at the front of underground labyrinth where Ball was held.

Second team: Reed, Wheeler, Irons are down in dock having just cleared area of guards.

Walker hisses into communicator, "Reed..get Ball. We'll continue with clearance of this sector."

"Roger. Over," Reed responds.

Chee and Dobrovowski split. Up staircase, lanky bloke sees there are two unarmed men in main control room for dock. Chee picks up guard coming up lift, with scanner he sees he has ten seconds to play with. Walker clambers up wall, noting what monk guy has picked up on his scanner.

Below them, far below, second team, cloaked, go to rescue Ball. The main dock area is obscured by an empty tanker that floats, dormant.
*
Ball senses someone nearby. He can see nobody.

"Who- "his words are cut short when he feels a hand grasp across his mouth.

"Sssh!" Reed urges him to be quiet.
*
"Seera to dock sixty-one come in. Open hanger doors immediately, over!" The secured channel allows her the freedom to address her people by her proper title.

She slows vehicle still feeling disturbed from the sight she saw in Edinburgh, her clones. Seera checks the controls again- everything is working perfectly. The doors have not opened.

She repeats her command. The doors do not open. She suddenly realizes she will not gain access and steeply climbs, rushing over roof. Blasting hover brakes on, her craft swings around and tilts the speed remaining, ramming mode, as she approaches hanger once more.

The two controllers lie on the floor with their life taken through blades. A guard spots one slumped how he shouldn't be, reaching for his staser. His mouth open in frozen a breath.

He goes to inspect further when Walker thrusts a sai into the throat and one into abdomen, the immortal's cloaked body, arched over like pushing some great obstacle.
*
A large explosion of noise bursts through and above them. The sheer force knocks down Reed and Ball who are in bay. Irons and Wheeler fall down into depths, only securing latching wires at last moment.

Seera's ship bursts over them in a orchestra of racket, deafening, like having a thunder clap amplified into one's ears. The ship's belly goes straight into the freighter- it crumples under impact from intrusive craft, although the woman's ship is much smaller. The stationary tanker in turn is pushed through offices just as the first team disappear down into depths of base.
*
Alarms are going now. It is pandemonium in the narrow corridors as remaining men attempt to know what is going on. Guards rush everywhere. The first team arrive blasting.

Armed staff drop as the cloaked figures of Walker, Chee and Dobrovowski split, firing, mowing down streams of bodies that are rushing toward them- confused.

The first team throw grenade after grenade of gas. Walker heads down passage which leads to main generator.
*
Seera is numbed by the experience. From her viewer she can see Reed and Ball coming over lip of dry dock. Irons and Wheeler rise from other side, Irons falls on his front, seeming to have some pain in his right shoulder.

She aims craft's stasers at all four. The guns will rip apart any human or (in this case) immortal- regardless. The screen that bypasses their cloaking devices blips onto targets.

Seera presses buttons.

Nothing happens.

She shoots through cockpit, toward roof of hanger, a shield surrounding her as she screams, metal above about to crush her skull (or she thinks). Tiny jets of power slow her fall down, making her descend gently. Below her craft is on fire. Small explosions erupt inside it.

Looking behind her she can see Reed pulling away- they have all decloaked. Irons still clutches his shoulder led by Wheeler. Swinging her head left, her stomach feels like it is rising within her as she falls slowly like in a dream. Looking right she sees Wheeler aiming a weapon at her, his laser cannon having hit her craft on its weakest point. One of her men who shot Irons dispatched by Reed.

Seera unclips safety shield, leaping from ejector seat.

Wheeler has already fired. Her seat rips apart in another small explosion, falling back onto craft. It has already put out half of the fires and she lands in a soft bed of its outer hull, shaping to cushion her fall, Seera rolls off gently unharmed.
*
Walker finds generator. Still cloaked he locates control panel. Flicking through lock codes he sets main power sources to full. Knowing that it won't shut down the entire system but will cause enough technical aggro' to buy them time.

Outside the last few of Seera's regime, all too young to remember U.F era, all too misguided through greed, (within hanger sixty-one) are slaughtered.

Dobrovowski enters room. Walker instinctively aims staser. Ceases. Chris decloaks.

"Clear," he says numbly.

"Okay..let's go," Cutter answers.
*
Wheeler is thrown back across floor as Seera kicks him away. Outside emergency services have started to arrive.

'This is bad,' thinks Seera as she notices Reed approaching, staser aimed at her.

Ball drags off Irons.

"Time to go Seera," Reed says.

"That little pop-gun will do nothing," she laughs defiantly.
*
The first team make it through, blasting rubble and debris, climbing up lift shaft. Walker is the first to see Reed aiming staser at Seera. He slides down tangled body of freighter, now joined with her craft. Outside, a force field suddenly snaps into play, stopping police, fire services, ambulances. He finds it ironic that even with her back against the proverbial wall, she can even have outside interference covered.

"Good work," Walker congratulates his fellow comrade-in-arms.

"Section cleared?" Reed asks.

"Affirmative on that one," Cutter is now ten feet from his enemy, his sai drawn, throwing away staser.

Wheeler is doubled up in agony on the floor, trying to gain breath, eyes screwed up in pain.

Ball rushes over, leaving Irons moaning about his arm. Dobrovowski and Chee climb down to ground level.

"Pr. Walker...we meet again," Seera turns to him smiling.

Walker throws a sai at her but she side steps. Reed lets off a shot that misses as the sai digs into his left leg, an unlucky position to be in right behind her.

She spins into a movement and closes down on Walker, using her right leg, she swings it up rapidly, aiming heel into side of his throat; her leg making a hooking motion as she kicks and connects.

Dobrovowski picks up Walker's discarded weapon and aims at her. She leaps up again, jumping over like in a movie, her left leg straight in a side kick position she connects, locking leg full in his chest.

Chee is about to fire when someone stops him.

"STOP IT!!"

The air is still, as Walker grabs his sai that has been knocked from his grip. He groans holding throat. He looks at Seera who is motionless by supine body of Dobrovowski. Chee is looking in the same direction as her.

Walker turns to Ball who is commanding their attention.

"For fuck's sake stop it...all of you!" He points an ancient gun at them all, "that includes you as well Walker!"

The head of police waves the gun at him, to put down his remaining sai. Wheeler is attempting to get up, he thinks she has broken a few of his ribs, possibly one has penetrated a lung as his mouth fills with blood.

"Chee.....put down the weapon," Ball closes in to the teams, "this is a snub-nosed 38, from the latter end of the Twentieth Century- a boom time for human guns. I believe you were going to get that guard to eventually shoot me with it, eh, Seera?"

The woman nods, breath regained from her exertions.

"Why? Why kill us? The United Forces finished years ago, centuries!" Irons moans from behind them as he slips a pain relief injection.

"Because," Seera begins slowly, "you lot were the only ones who could get in my way. But it will not stop here, this is merely a glitch. I will succeed, there are thousands upon thousands of my troops, scattered not only here on Earth but all over the galaxies, awaiting my command."

Irons pain killer begins to take effect on his dislocated shoulder, "why an old Earth revolver?"

"Bullets kill us outright," Reed mutters knowingly.

Seera looks out to the emergency services that are blocked. Her vessel enters Earth's atmosphere. She knows that Walker and his cronies will not be able to teleport out of the hanger due to the shield. Ball knows this.

He approaches her, until standing right next to the crazed despot.

"What are you waiting for Commissioner Treaves…..kill me!!" Seera repeats her provocation, "you're right, I would have killed you all......just like the corporal's children. They died pathetic-"

Ball stabs the handgun into her head, she closes her eyes waiting.

"NO!!" Walker groans.

Dobrovowski says nothing. Wheeler wheezes, he rests himself against her craft, spitting blood, finding difficulty in moving. All are silent as outside the sounds of commotion are muffled through force field.

Chee notices that the services are rapidly pulling back, men and women running. The waterways outside splash up furiously as Seera's vessel homes into view over the hanger.

"Your children are alive and well Ball..we saved them.." Walker holds Ball's shoulder as he speaks, "your wife was left unharmed."

"Yes..I believe you Al'...but..after all? Huh. What would it make me? Like you? Some lower form of life. Don't think I don't appreciate what you've done. I must insist that Dobrovowski you are under arrest…at last. All of you are under arrest! This antiquated behavior ends here! There is no more room for super-beings anymore."

For the last few minutes, Reed has figured out what Walker has been doing. Suddenly Alan pulls the shoulder of Ball and sweeps his foot across like making a football pass, taking the startled man's legs from underneath him- all the while having pretended he was incapacitated from the neck blow. Seera knocks the gun out of his hands but takes a bullet in the left side (glancing) of her chest.

Ball is falling. Walker punches down on him, in the back of his head, enough to render him unconscious. Seera is crying out for a second time as they all hit the floor, another shot released, bullet going into her abdomen.

Walker quickly grabs Ball's gun and shoots a third bullet into Seera, heart area. The force field outside disappears.

She disappears from sight after he has squeezed trigger.

The water made turbulent from craft above waves inward. Seera's vessel leaves dockland, noise ceasing. The power supply to hanger cuts out on cue to first teams tampering, albeit a little late- blackness reigns.
*
Aboard Seera's vessel, the teleport is awash with blood as she reappears groaning. Her crew rush to her but are too late. They bear her on a stretcher to medical area but her eyes are closing fast as the pain slips from her into bliss. Her crew don't bother with rushing; she is finished and after all they only wanted the money, now they have that and an elite craft to boot.

Her commander, first in line to her empire; when it will be gained- is sad but glad at the same time, feeling power.

"Computer, I now take command and.." the commander remains in mourning for a second or two, then relishes what he can now achieve; all for the honour of Seera of course.

His own thoughts are lost for a moment when he starts to notice the bridge crew looking at him fearfully.

"What?" He demands.

A young woman says trembling, "we have no control over the vessel sir. It seems to have set a course....beyond sector 15467..? The instruments will not respond."

"But nothing is there!! Computer? COMPUTER!"
*
The bridge is silent as Walker's men sit there, recovering. It is over. They have triumphed....again. Some victory for an ungrateful piece of excrement like Ball and the safety of the universe. Dexter teleported them out of there. With the aid of the vessel, it showed her; it could have done it but the woman looked bored; the vessel is for ever learning a lot from humans. Its Univarian superiors will be pleased with it.

Walker stares at the main viewer as his vessel heads out through solar system, past Saturn, at a slow pace, cloaked. Alan wishes to return to his planet. Most of them probably in mind wish to join Walker on his world of sweet solitude, if but for a while, it will be good for him to feel again.
*
Ball discharges himself from hospital. Below in the grounds of lawns he sees his wife. Outside reporters are storming the building, trying to, as police barriers hold them back. Two large built officers are guiding her through the hubbub of journalists.

Soon he will embrace her. He has just spoken to his two children who are shaken but otherwise unharmed. He wished he could have thanked Walker and the rest of them. But he had to make it look good, he had to try and put a stop to their nonsense. His head is still sore as he looks out to the night lights of London, a sprawling landscape.

"Seera...you'd have never won..those times are over, if your still out there," Ball speaks out loud, heading towards lift to ground floor, "the time of war is over."
