Reed has set the coordinates for the Veloron system. His ship is well
armored against the hazardous atmosphere surrounding Cutter's planet.
He built the craft himself, experimenting with biomorpbic technology but
only on the outer bulk heads, general armourment, some weapons systems-
nothing that could rip apart the main standard workmanship he had put
into androids that constructed the ship. Using the best of alien cultures
and raiding the vessel's infinite computer database, he attained enough
information to make the Illustrious formidable and slightly advanced to
anything in the known in the galaxies (apart from the vessel).
"Of course..the drive to this motor isn't anywhere on what the vessel
R.S.T.C could do
but it's quite pokey," Reed sips a cup of coffee
as the engines warm, preparing to go into full, extended drive.
"How long?" Walker watches his planet from above, feeling a
tinge of nostalgia, he shakes his head as though some irritable memory
surfaces unexpectedly.
"Are you alright?" Reed is puzzled by Walker's behavior, ever
since he first landed, he's observed from afar knowing there's something
wrong with Al'.
"How long?" he asks, disregarding Reed's concern.
"Two weeks," the ex-sarge replies, almost with an air of shame
but then he covers with, "she can stand the pressure longer..I designed
her for that, to travel at top whack. We could be there before two weeks."
"So you did obtain some data from the vessel before your disappearing
act," Walker says with ice sardonic edge.
"Yeah.."
"Since you were supposedly dead," Cutter sits himself down
in a chair opposite and on a lower level to the one from Reed.
"I remember you did a disappearance act yourself Al'."
Walker falls to stone silence.
